For your last week of class, you will engage, research and create 2 final products that demonstrates and illustrates a topic that you choose to explore. The topic should be from the years 1920-Present Day.
**World History & Geography Standards Addressed: Varied by topic and influenced by student choice.
ALL Topics must be approved by teacher. Most entertainers and athletes will be denied and are on a case by case basis.**
Once a topic is selected by a student, it will be "taken" and unable to be selected by any other student. Think carefully about your topic before you choose it.
The Project has TWO components:
1. A short (approximately 1 page) paper on a famous person or event
2. A small Project as outlined below
The paper and the project you select can be on the same topic or different topics.

Introduction
-1 paragraph that clearly introduces the topic and the time frames surrounding the topic. Have a clear focus for your paper. Include a thesis statement to focus your writing.
Body Paragraphs
- Follow guidelines from your language arts classes and write several paragraphs the provide details, examples and information about your chosen topic
Conclusion
Conclusion should be a reflection of the event/topic and why it was important and how it affected peoples lives.
Reference Page
Create a "Works Cited" or "Reference" page that lists the books, webpages, magazines, etc. that you used to write your paper

Final Project
The final project should be a visual product that explains, contains details of & illustrates a topic or significant event in world history.
Select one of the two following formats:
A. Poster or Trifold
The Poster or Trifold
Must include a ALL of the following at a minimum:
1. map
2. notes/details that relate to the topic
3. images
4. charts or graphs related to the topic
5. personal reflection/thoughts about the importance or significance of the topic you selected
B. Product/Project
1. diorama
2. film and original short video or performance
3. create a museum exhibit with relevant artifacts and descriptions
4. create a model of something relative to the topic
5. write a short play or skit
6. original piece of art
7. Series of Political Cartoons
8. Graphic Novel/Comic
9. Create a website (I recommend www.weebly.com)
10. Please suggest other options to me & I will add them on to the list here (*Needs teacher approval before you begin*)
It is important that you understand I expect it to appear that you have invested time to research and create the product.
